April to October
Come along with us on a magnificent and spectacular tour up the Fraser Canyon to Hell's Gate Airtram at the narrowest point in the river where the fur trader and explorer Simon Fraser thought he had passed through the 'Gates of Hell' on his way downstream, barely in control of his canoe about two hundred years ago.
Comfortably descend into Hell's Gate by airtram and enjoy a wonderful salmon lunch. Explore the canyon. Cross the Mighty Fraser on a foot-bridge to see the fish ladders and watch the churning river sweep silently by. Watch as river rafters navigate the fast and treacherous waters. Finally, emerge from the depths of the awe-inspiring canyon by airtram and return to Vancouver refreshed by the warmth of the canyon winds.
Enroute, marvel at the splendor and the magnificence of the Fraser Canyon. Photo stops are a definite must on this tour. Train lovers will enjoy Hell's Gate as the Canadian Pacific Railway is on one side of the river and the Canadian National Railway is on the other. A real plus for all is that the canyon is in the rain shadow of the Coast Mountains: it's dry and often hot.
